6th and Final Day

Today was our last day in Washington D.C. On our way out of town we visited my Harmony (mom's mom) for the last time. She is so cute!! It was so great to see her again as the last time I saw her was about 12 years ago.... When we moved here to Indy, I told Rene that I really wanted to see my Harmony at least once while we were here. Thankfully, he's an amazing guy and let us do it. :)

After we saw her, we went to Arlington National Cemetery to see the changing of the guard. Below is the women's memorial.

Here are rows of graves where only one has flowers on it. I just thought it made for an interesting picture.

Now, Rene and I had kind of debated on whether or not we wanted to see the changing of the guard. Many people told us that was a must see... but why?? My dad sent me an email before we left for the trip about the guards and it was pretty impressive. Here are some of the fun facts :)
1. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier has been guarded 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year since April 6, 1948.
2. Must be between 5'10'' and 6'4'', and they must be fit
3. Memorize 7 pgs of Arlington Nat'l Cemetery history
4. Their gloves are moistened to improve their grip on the rifle
